Cabo San Lucas is at the very tip of the Baja Peninsula, with its famous rocks at the point being the separation between the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez.  Known for its spectacular rock formations and its granite-sand beaches, Cabo has become one of the most popular tourist locations in Mexico.

With the exception of Lovers Beach, the sand in Los Cabo is different than what you might expect.  It is coarsely ground granite, which can be very hard on the feet.  I would recommend bringing some really good sandals, or some water shoes to walk around in.  I found it pretty difficult in many spots to walk barefooted on the beach.

Pictures from Land's End and Lovers Beach:

Getting a water taxi and heading out to Land's End is a must when you visit Cabo San Lucas. You can find water taxis almost everywhere, and costs are usually around $10-15USD per person, and you can stay as long a you want. You can also rent jet skis and have have some more freedom, but they are much more expensive. There are no facilities out there, so bring your food and beverages with you. Here are some great pictures of what to expect while you are out there.

Taking a water taxi out to the Arch at Land's End is a must.

Lovers Beach from the Sea of Cortez:

Lovers Beach was one of the coolest things I have ever seen.  The water was great, and it was a great place to party too.  If you are a great swimmer and love daring adventures, take a dip on the Pacific side.  It has a dangerous under current, but if you are a daredevil, it's waves are incredibly thrilling.

The Hilton was a very pretty resort, in one of the best locations.  It was about a 15 minute drive to downtown Cabo, but the beach was very private, and the water was actually much more enjoyable.  The service was impeccable, and the restraunts were great.  Every detail of the resort was made to impress, as were the services.  Wireless internet is available, but it costs about $10USD per day, they also had a business center with internet for about $1USD per 5 minutes.  Valet parking was free (tips appreciated, of course), and there were no pesky "resort fees" or other bogus charges.  All staff members spoke great English, and were some of the kindest and most professional people we met in Cabo.
